Clark County Local Emergency Planning Committee

Mission Statement:

To serve the communities and the environment of Clark County through hazardous substance accident prevention, emergency preparedness, education, training, and communication.

Meetings:

LEPC meets the second Thursday of each month, 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the Northwest Regional Training Center. Meeting minutes are available. The meetings in January, April, July, and October are the quarterly business meetings. The January meeting is also the Annual Meeting. All other meetings are workgroup sessions for LEPC members, and the location and times may change without notice. Quarterly and Annual meeting changes will be posted on the What Is the LEPC Doing? page.

LEPC is made of members of the community:

Fire departments Businesses
Police and Sheriff departments Community groups
Government agencies (Ecology, Transportation, Health District, Emergency Management) Communications and media professionals
Hospitals Elected officials

The LEPC is designed to

Do emergency planning and testing of plans,
Receive notification of emergency releases of chemicals,
Collect chemical storage (Tier II) reports,
Review local toxic release inventory reports, and
Increase public awareness of hazardous substances.
